Jalon Valley Help’s annual ‘Carols in the Square’ took place in Jalon on the evening of Friday, 13th December, led – on this occasion – by the U3A Casual Choir and Valley Voices. They were joined by over two hundred local residents who enjoyed mince pies, stollen and wine provided courtesy of the Charity and the local Bodega Xalo. 5,000€ donation to Fontilles

5,000€ donation to Fontilles

On Monday 2nd December members of JVH visited Fontilles and Lorrie Harkness, the Treasurer, presented Father Jose Luis Beneito with 5,000€ on behalf of the Charity. He said that it would be used in upgrading the Papillon Unit, which is the unit used for respite and palliative care.

Pam Turner (left) and Rosita Sparkes (right) handing over 86 beautiful, hand-knitted jumpers and cardigans to the Gandia Preventorio for them to distribute to children in need. The jumpers were knitted by members of the Craft Group of Casa de Ánimo and members of the community.

Presentation to MABS

During a MABS coffee morning at the IMED Clinic in Teulada on Tuesday, 13th November, 2013, volunteers from Jalon Valley Help presented a cheque for 5,000€ to the President of MABS, Jacqui Phillips, MBE. Jacqui was very grateful, and quite overcome by the amount, and said that it would be very helpful in offsetting the high cost of providing nursing care.
